Mood Changes

Since I’ve started Cerelle, the mini pill to control my periods and help with endometriosis my mood has been somewhat different, not in a good way.

I’ve been experiencing pain associated with endometriosis but I’m having mood swings and seem to get angry quickly. I have been on them around 5 days now but enough to alter my hormones and mood. It’s worrying and my husband has noticed too, I seem more argumentative and not quite in the right frame of mind. I’ve suffering from fatigue and would love to sleep for for a week!

I’ve been in a good place for a while now and it amazes me how one little white tablet can change everything. I’m willing to keep trying as could just be little blip while my hormones sort themselves out and settle down otherwise I will have no choice but to stop taking them. Then my options have run out which is heartbreaking.

Some 32% of women who take contraception can develop depression, so there is definitely a link between hormones and our brains, but I believe the link is yet to be studied by scientists and doctors. It’s a synthetic hormone, so it’s going to have some side affects, some women can take it and be absolutely fine, and there’s me who suffer with the side affects.

I’m hoping I will be back to my normal self soon.

  1. Best of luck with your new pill 🙂 I gave this one a chance for 3 months, and it didn’t get any better – however, my friend said after 1 month she felt back to normal. Very mixed reviews with this one! I had to go on Cerelle as that was the only one my body agreed with, so it’s different for everyone.

    Peace and love xx
