Scary World

I’m bringing up my children in a world where there is so much terror, it’s frightening.

Many countries suffering because of politics, corruption, religious extremists, terrorism, the list goes on. I was watching the 10pm news last night and the humanitarian crisis in the DR Congo nearly reduced me to tears. Men go into a village with machetes hacking up anyone that crosses their path, men, women and children and even women with their baby strapped to the their back. It’s all barbaric. These are innocent people already struggling with poverty now living in fear of men killing them. The UN and the world is letting them down.

Then you have other countries such as Ukraine, Syria, Bangladesh and Myanmar, Yemen and the list goes on. Many innocent civilians being killed because of war, many times you see on the tv a child who has lost its parents due to war and not eaten for a week. Humans are well and truly intent on killing each other and destroying the planet.

Was this god’s plan? For humans to turn on each other maybe for another generation of homo sapien? Is all this abuse ever going to end? Why can’t there be world peace or is that just boring for people with power and money.

You get a British footballer earning £10000s a week enough to feed a small African town, it’s ridiculous. You have a celebrity showing off their handbag collection worth millions which could fund a malaria treatment programme or open several schools. We live on a fucked up planet with fucked up priorities.

I’m opening a can of worms here but then there is the Madeleine McCann case, a little girl who disappeared 11 years ago in Portugal while her parents wined and dined and friends. The home office has said they will add more funds taking the total cost of finding Madeleine to over £11 million. I’m sorry but I thinks it absurd, the parents have made money of the back of their disappearing daughter and yet you never see any kind of emotion from the parents. There are so many children missing in the UK yet they don’t get this kind of funding, why? I have said this before and will say it again I honestly believe the parents played a role in her disappearance, majority of the UK says it too. Why can’t the money go into the NHS? Cracking down on child abuse rings and paedophillia? Improving education? Putting more police out there on the beat? Helping families in desperate need because of poverty? There is so much that money could be spent on instead of looking for a ghost.
